Science in Slovakia faces various obstacles, but a lack of brilliant, research-driven individuals is certainly not among them. This was evident during the presentation of awards and prizes for scientific and professional literature by the Literary Fund. Expert juries across six categories faced the challenging task of selecting the winners, as many of the submitted works were of exceptional quality and originality. The top achievers gathered on September 21, 2026, at the Zichy Palace in Bratislava for the awards ceremony. The high caliber of the winning works fosters the continued development of science and demonstrates to young people that one need not always go abroad to pursue high-quality scientific work. One of the three most prestigious lifetime achievement awards was presented to Academician Igor Broska, a member of the Learned Society of Slovakia. Congratulations!
